Rhode Island Healthy and Safe Families and Workplaces Act- 7/5/2018
The Rhode Island Healthy and Safe Families and Workplaces Act poster has been released by the Rhode Island Department of Labor and Training. The new law requires certain employers to provide employees paid sick days for an employee’s or an employee’s family member’s mental or physical illness, injury, or health condition. The law also allows leave to be taken when an employee or an employee’s family member is a victim of domestic violence, sexual assault, or stalking.
South Carolina Fair Employment- 7/3/2018
The South Carolina Fair Employment poster has been updated to reflect a new protected category. Employers are now prohibited from discriminating against employees with medical needs arising from pregnancy, childbirth, or related medical conditions.
