New San Jose Employment Ordinance Requires 'Opportunity to Work' Poster

Effective March 13, 2017, San Jose employers with 36 or more employees and who are subject to the San Jose Business License Tax or who operate a facility in San Jose, must post the San Jose Opportunity to Work law. Under the new employment ordinance, qualifying businesses must offer additional work hours to existing, qualified part-time employees before hiring new employees or subcontractors, or using temporary staffing services. Failure to comply with this labor law posting requirement may result in significant fines.
